Legalization Of Marijuana Will Boost Ghana’s Economy Than Harm – Blakk Rasta

Black Rasta

Blakk Rasta, the controversial Reggae musician, who was invited to
Parliament on his comments about Marijuana legalization, has hinted,
Kofi Annan, former UN secretary, backs the legalization of marijuana

According to the reggae artist, the legalization of marijuana will
help Ghana to stop borrowing. Thus, if we have States marijuana farms,
which will serve as foreign exchange after exports and also help solve
the country’s electricity power problems (Dumsor).

Blakk Rasta in an interview with DJ Roar during Entertainment Cirkle,
on Kessben FM, added he is ready to get to Parliament if called again
base on his new advocacy song dubbed, “Kofi Annan says”. More
importantly, the controversial musician revealed that he do not smoke
‘weed’ despite several attempts to make it legalized.

“I don’t smoke and I will never do that. Likewise,
Kofi Annan do same. However, we’re all advocating for the legalization
of marijuana because of the enormous benefits it carries. My prime
motive of the legalization of marijuana is not centered on smoking of
weed as majority of Ghanaians might think but the medicinal purposes of
it. When your doctor prescribes marijuana to you, that’s very
insightful”, Blakk Rasta lauded.

Also, when asked by DJ Roar the negative impacts associated with
people who uses marijuana in our society especially when it comes to
mental heath diseases. Blakk Rasta posited that marijuana is not the
cause of mental illness as the masses have been made to believe.

He indicated that, countries who have legalized marijuana like
Holland experience lowest crime rate. However, his argument in support
of the low crime rate in marijuana states was quashed by the host, DJ
Roar, looking at the numerous examples that can be cited in Ghana.

Well, we can infer from the argument that, Blakk Rasta might be
arrested or invited again by the privileges committee of Parliament. If
you could remember, the first time he was invited by Parliament
privileges committee, the controversial musician was charged to comport
himself ethically in matters relating to marijuana. As such, the
allegations levelled against Kofi Annan makes him closer to the law
